Our Story

Then

Innovation and industrious vision have been woven into our story since 1915, when settlers from Northern Italy brought their artistry across the Atlantic to the small, charming town of Valdese, North Carolina.

With them came centuries of fine craftsmanship, and in this quiet community they planted the seeds of an American textile legacy.

In those early years, every piece was born from human hands. Weavers worked with simple shuttles, passing yarn back and forth with care and precision. Tapestries, matelassés, and brocatelles flowed from the looms, carrying with them not just fabric, but artistry and devotion.

As time moved forward, so did our craft. The Jacquard loom revolutionized design, though it demanded patience, with hand-painted pattern cards being carefully translated into weave structures. The looms, running at just 125 picks per minute, wove steadily while the world’s tastes evolved.
